Many legends have persisted
Coral through the ages. The Romans used to hang its beads on the cradles
and around the neck of infants to preserve and fasten their teeth. It
was also regarded as a charm against lightning, whirlwind, shipwreck and
fire. Some used it as a preventive against sorcery, charms and poison.
It was used as a medicine as well as an amulet. It is supposed to give
relief to patients suffering from pains and afflictions of the bladder.
Coral is one of the seven treasures in Buddhist scriptures.
Coral is the anniversary gemstone for the 35th
year of marriage. |
